Tiesto Earns First No. 1 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales Chart With ‘The Business’

Tiesto’s “The Business” bumps 3-1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart (dated Jan. 30). The track sold 1,500 downloads, up 19%, in the week ending Jan. 21, according to MRC Data. It could gain further after its remix sporting vocals from Ty Dolla $ign was released that day.

The song marks Tiesto’s first No. 1 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart. His 38 overall chart hits, meanwhile, rank third-best (with Kygo) among all acts, trailing only the totals of David Guetta (58) and Lady Gaga (40). Tiesto boasts 11 top 10s, including his first entry, “Feel It” (credited to Three 6 Mafia vs. Tiesto with Sean Kingston and Flo Rida), which reached No. 7 in 2010.

“The Business” has now topped two Billboard dance/electronic charts, as it led the Dance/Mix Show Airplay list dated Nov. 28 (marking Tiesto’s fourth No. 1 on the survey).

Additionally, “The Business” pushes 6-5 on the multi-metric Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, tying 2014’s “Red Lights” and “Wasted” (featuring Matthew Koma) for Tiesto’s second-best placement; “Jackie Chan,” with Dzeko and featuring Preme and Post Malone, hit No. 3 in 2018.

With 2.9 million U.S. streams in the tracking week, “The Business” also rises 10-7 on Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs.

Elsewhere on Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs, Travis Scott and HVME hit No. 1 with “Goosebumps.” The first leader for both acts surged by 92% to 7.1 million U.S. streams in the week ending Jan. 21, following the Jan. 15 release of its new mix with Scott (who released his original version in 2016).

“Goosebumps” also bounds 4-2 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs and 21-6 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales, up 126% to 1,000 sold. The song additionally earned 2.2 million all-format airplay audience impressions, up 62%.

On Dance/Mix Show Airplay, Jax Jones and Au/Ra roll 14-10 with “I Miss U.” The sixth top 10 for producer Jones and second for singer Au/Ra, the song is securing core-dance radio play, including at leaders KMVQ-HD2 San Francisco, Music Choice’s Dance/EDM channel and KNHC (C89.5) Seattle.
