Matthiola perennis alba is a mound-forming, woody-based perennial or subshrub. often grown as an annual or biennial, with broadly lance-shaped, woolly, grey-green leaves and upright racemes of strongly fragrant, white flowers from late spring into summer.

Grow in full sun in fertile, well-drained, preferably neutral to alkaline soil.Takes extreme dryness in its stride.As not usually long lived allow it to self seed.
