Pros & beginners - alpine sports for everyone!

Beginners usually practice their first snowplough turns at the Gaisberg, Übungs or Mahdstuhl lift exercising slopes. Our local ski school in Obergurgl offers courses for every level of ability. A ski rental is also available. Advanced skiers can find middle ranged slopes at the Festkogl in Obergurgl and on the slope Schermerspitze in Hochgurgl. Top skiers will appreciate the challenge offered by the steep Hohe Mut slope in Obergurgl and the Top-Wurmkogl II mogul slope.

Almost all slopes end in the village. There will be a free ski bus transfer between the parts of the village Obergurgl.

The TOP-EXPRESS - connection cable car from Obergurgl to Hochgurgl

An 8-person cable car connects the ski areas Obergurgl and Hochgurgl. The ride with the 3.6 km long cable car will only take nine minutes. With a total of 50 8-person cabins, the circulating cable car can transport up to 1,200 persons per hour. The panorama cable car crosses the Königstal and the Verwalltal while the skiers have an incomparable view of the surrounding glacier summits.

Snow reliability and snow-making facilities

Should Mother Holle forget once to shake her beds, Obergurgl-Hochgurgl will be more than ready. 90 % of all slopes in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl can be covered with artificially produced snow. This means that the reputation for the “most snow-reliable winter sports resort in the Alps” is met even technically.
