About this item

  • Keep moist, not letting the seeds dry out between watering. **SOIL Temperature for Germination: 70-75F. Planting Depth: 1/4". Sprout tomato seeds in small containers, preferably 4" or smaller. In-ground germination is not recommended. Use a standard potting mix that is well drained.
  • Start seeds in containers approximately 8 weeks prior to the planned set-out date. Plants should ultimately be transplanted to the garden 1-2 weeks after the expected date of last frost. Soil should be kept consistently warm, from 70-85F. Cool soils, below about 60-65F, even just at night, will significantly delay or inhibit germination. Additionally, overly warm soils, well above 90F, can inhibit germination and provide ideal conditions for seed rot.
  • Over watering can cause fungal growth which leads to seed rot. Excess water can also bury seeds deep in the soil where they will not be able break the surface. Water when the soil surface just begins to dry.
  • Multiple seeds can be planted in a single starter container, but should be thinned once seedlings appear so only a single plant remains. Seeds do not require light for germination but some light source should be provided for seedlings once they emerge from the soil.

Product Description

The large vines of this variety produces thousands of tiny fruits. The deep red tomatoes have a great rich and complex flavor. A perfect choice for snacking. We instantly fell in love with this delightfully tiny tomato. Its miniscule leaves, flowers and 1/4 inch, ruby red fruit are the tiniest we've seen. Deceptively big on sweet, curranty flavor, they are a treat in salads, as a garnish or right off the plant by the handfuls! Sweet Pea is a charming, indeterminate plant with a low, spreading habit that lends itself to container living and especially to hanging baskets. Sweet Pea Currant Tomato is a very heavy-yielding, long-season variety that sets enormous clusters of fruit! Indeterminate. 62 days. HOW TO GROW: Once a few true leaves have developed, seedlings should be slowly moved outside (if sprouted indoors) to ambient light. Care should be taken not to expose seedlings to direct, scorching sun so plants may need to be hardened off via slow sun exposure. Hardening off can be done using a shaded or filtered light location, as well as protection from strong winds, rain or low humidity. Hardening off time varies, but can take 5-10 days. *** **SOIL Temperature for Germination: 70F **Plant Spacing: 24", **Hardiness: Zones 4-11 **Sun Requirement: Full Sun, **Days to Germination: 7-14 days under optimal conditions, **Germination Rate: 94%

I just started my indoor garden and these seeds seem to be growing well.

It’s planting time and I ordered these 2-3 weeks ago. Got them yesterday, so haven’t had a chance to plant them yet. So I don’t know if they’re good or not.

These turned out to be regular cherry tomatoes...not currant tomatoes. I planted these and cherry tomatoes and the plants and fruit all came out the same. I carefully marked the plants and kept them separate. So disappointed!

I received in two days. I have one plant growing in a 7 gallon pot. Started seeds indoors. It’s been 69 days, have tons of little green tomatoes, plant is 6 ft tall. We’ve had really great weather, wish they would ripen.
