First off I must say that I have been a fan of the DOA series since the first game came out for the original PS1 (I believe) and that with that, that is the main reason why I bought this game, it was part of the series. There's really no storyline here, Zack gets his original island up and running again (with the help of some alien friends) and once again invites only the ladies claiming he's gonna hold the next DOA Tournament there. Instead, he's inviting the ladies to spend a 2 week vacation on his island. At the end of the vacation set, Zack suffers another hilarious, if not ironic, ending.
The graphics for this game is very well done. Granted all of the girls have model-type bodies with bra sizes most men would dream about, but the graphics beyond the girls is also done nicely. The controls are simple for the entire game pretty much. You're using only about 2 maybe 3 buttons for most of the game (there are a couple of mini-games where you do use more).
The music within this game is rather short-listed, but you can adjust that to what you want. You can burn your own CD's/music onto the xbox and make a playlist that you can listen to as you go through the game. Considering that the game itself doesn't have a large list of songs within, I would suggest doing just this.
The mini-games within are more for passing time than to actually enjoy. The hopping game, tug-of-war, and butt battle and especially the slide just don't add to the game well. The jet ski races are a bit more fun and sometimes challenging, but the main course of the game (and the way to make the most money) is through playing volleyball. As for the casino, you get your choice of Blackjack, Roulette, and slots. There is a cheating *glitch* for making money with Roulette, but you risk corrupting your save file by doing it. Blackjack IMO takes too long since it's not just you and the dealer, it's you with 3 other girls and sometimes they like to take their time making up their minds. Slots, ah the slots, there is a hidden special item you can get by playing ONE of the various slot machines there. Each of the slot machines is themed after each of the girls in the game and to get the hidden item you have to play on Christie's slot machine with MAX bets. Sounds easy maybe time consuming, problem is this game has some lines (I guess you can call them that) that will take your money. When you do win, you'll win big, but a LOT of times, you will lose, and lose a lot. But this is the only way to get the item and fully complete each girls' collection to get the achievement(s).
The swimsuits, ah the swimsuits, well over a couple hundred of different swimsuits for these lovely ladies and the basis for the achievements of this game - try to get all the swimsuits to each of the girls. Sounds simple but it is NOT. Each girl when they go into the shop to buy swimsuits has their own selection, most modest, some unseeming and unusual, and a few quite exotic. In order to get all the swimsuits to one girl, you have to play as the other girls, buy the swimsuits and try to "gift" them to the girl of your choice. Thing is, each girl has their own idea of what they like and don't like. You have to first give them gifts they like to get them to like you, and you have to wrap the gifts in their preferred color. Then once they do like you, then gift them the swimsuits and hope they don't refuse it. One thing I do like about this game over the first DOA Volleyball is that they don't throw the swimsuits away, they just refuse it and give it back to you so you have the opportunity to re-wrap the gift and re-try at a later time. Problem is there are swimsuits that the girls will definitely hate and you'll have to work hard and long in order to get them to finally accept them.
Even though there is a lot to do in this game (if you're going for the achievements) I don't think it was especially meant to played through in one set time-frame. This is a game that I've put down time and time again then come back to when I just want to relax and take things easy. Granted with all the swimsuits available you may be tempted to constantly sit down and play it constantly just to get one girl's collection filled, I don't see it feasible.
Another thing I MUST point out!!!!! Tecmo did not make this game so that you can transfer you game save from one Xbox to another. So, if you buy this game and fully complete any of the girls' collection then get a new system, your original save file will not transfer to the new Xbox. You have to start from the very beginning with nothing in all of their collections. Very frustrating if your Xbox goes down and needs to be replaced.

Buying this game again.
YES I am a pervert, and I'm not afraid of admiting it. I'm just going to come out and say this, for what this "game" really is: SOFT CORE PORN. 99% of the people (men) who buy this game are buying it for one reason, to gawk at the digital women portrayed on the screen. There is really nothing much to this game other than the women in it, nobody buys the game to play volly ball, they buy it to get turned on by it. Sure, they're are some fun aspects such as the new mini games added, the casino(my favorite) other than that, no real substance.For those who had an xbox 1, probably had the first game in the series, boy was it awkward for a 16 year old kid asking his mother to buy the game for him. Not only that, you try explaining a photo realistic woman in a string one piece bikini/thong jumping across the water nearly naked. That game, was far better than this one. Which brings me to this, this game is six years old, and from what I've found is hard to track down anywhere which says to me, collectors item.There is a very good chance I'm going to keep the game sealed. Because, from what I've seen from the first game a sealed copy, goes for over sixty dollars new.Anywho, deep down the game is good, but if you're going to buy it, do it now. The game is out of print, and six years later it's very hard to find. So buy it now, otherwise another year from now you'll be paying a hundred dollars for a new copy.

The game is absolutely fun lots of stuff has been added, if your a fan of dead or alive series give it a try as it is a Xbox 360 exclusive.
