"This is not my office!" "You're g*****n right it's not your office!" LOL! Trying to fool Inspector Todd with a fake interview and sneaking in his office to use the phone was too funny! Beverly Hills Cop II is just as good as the first one. Eddie Murphy is at it again as Axel Foley. This movie brings back memories for me of my mom watching it when I was a little girl growing up in the 80s. I think this is my first time watching it all the way through. Very funny movie with a great storyline. You can never go wrong with Eddie Murphy, most of his movies are pretty good anyway. I loved Gilbert Hill as the cursing Inspector Todd. Sadly, Hill died in 2016. Hill was an actual cop in Detroit for many years, also served as a councilman, and then president of the Detroit City Council. Hill was an excellent choice for the Beverly Hills Cop movie series and really helped make the movies a real success in my most humble opinion. Now I just have to watch Beverly Hills Cop III; I hope it's just as good as the first two!

Got it quickly and in time for Christmas and it was exactly what it was said to be. My SO is glad to have the one of the collection we couldnt find and now he can sit an watch them all back to back lol. The only thing I wasn't happy about was getting emails from the seller asking me to rate them 5stars (I've gotten 2 so far) but at the same time I understand the more higher ratings they get the closer to the top of the list they are. There was not tracking info for this item and being worried because of it being so close to Christmas that I wouldn't get it on time kinda sucked but I got it before Christmas and so everything was fine. Id recommend the seller provides tracking info for their shipments for people who may want to check the status of their order or perhaps they want to be home when the package may potentially be there. All in all I'd order from this seller again.

Wie üblich bei erfolgreichen Filmen, kommt früher oder später meistens eine Fortsetzung. 1987 war es bei „Beverly Hills Cop“ soweit, die Produzenten JERRY BRUCKHEIMER und DON SIMPSON schickten „Dampfplauderer“ EDDIE MURPHY ein zweites Mal auf Verbrecherjagd.
Auch dieser Film wurde wieder exakt auf EDDIE MURPHY zugeschnitten, auch die Protagonisten des ersten Teils wurden fast alle übernommen. JUDGE REINHOLD, als „Detective Billy Rosewood“, und JOHN ASHTON, als „Detective John Taggart”, durften natürlich ebenso wenig fehlen wie RONNY COX als „Captain Andrew Bogomil“.
Als Bösewicht „Maxwell Dent“ musste dieses Mal der deutsche Schauspieler JÜRGEN PROCHNOW herhalten, der nach seinem Erfolg als „Der Alte“ beim Kriegsfilm „Das Boot“, damals im Begriff war in Hollywood durchzustarten. Auch BRIGITTE NIELSEN war mit von der Partie, sie spielt die kühle Gangsterbraut „Karla Fry“ echt klasse. Die NIELSEN war damals eine richtige Rakete, wenn man sieh heute sieht ….. viel zu viel Plastik!

Ebenso wie der Vorgänger, mutierte auch der zweite Teil zu einem vollen Erfolg an den Kinokassen. Bei Produktionskosten von 20 Millionen $, stand ein Umsatz von 300 Millionen zu Buche, das kann sich sehen lassen.

Inhaltlich verschlägt es AXEL FOLEY (Eddie Murphy) wieder nach Beverly Hills, wo die „Alphabetverbrechen“ für Unruhe sorgen. Die Täter hinterlassen an den Tatorten Botschaften mit geheimnisvollen Zifferncodes, die die Polizei vor ein Rätsel stellen.
Als ob es die Polizei nicht schon schwer genug hätte, werden die Ermittlungen auch noch durch den neuen Polizeichef LUTZ (Allen Garfield) behindert, der sich beim Bürgermeister einschleimen möchte. Als BOGOMIL (Rony Cox), ROSEWOOD (JUDGE REINHOLD) und TAGGART (John Ashton) auf eigene Faust ermitteln, ist LUTZ so verärgert, dass er BOGOMIL suspendiert und die beiden anderen zur Verkehrspolizei versetzt. Kurz darauf wird BOGOMIL kaltblütig niedergeschossen, der schwerverletzt ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert wird.
Als AXEL davon Wind bekommt, macht er sich sofort auf den Weg um mit seinen Kumpels ROSEWOOD und TAGGART die „Alphabetverbrechen“ aufzuklären……

Mein Fazit: Mir persönlich gefällt der zweite Teil etwas besser als der erste, was eigentlich ziemlich unüblich ist. Ich finde die ganzen Dialoge nicht ganz so übertrieben wie beim ersten Teil, auch die beiden Bösewichte JÜRGEN PROCHNOW und BRIGITTE NIELSEN werten den ganzen Film nochmal auf.
Action und Comedy sind sehr ausgewogen, mir gefällt „Beverly Hills Cop II“ sehr gut.

The 80's were the place to be for action comedy movies and they did it well, Beverly hills cop 2 is a worthy sequel to the original in every way with a great story about a group of terrorists doing organised robberies all over the city, Foley and friends must stop them, the cast is all back from the original, Eddie Murphy is a great lead as usual, Foley being one of his prime characters from the 80's when he was a hit, Judge Reinhold and John Ashton are back playing his bumbling partners, plus we have Brigitte Nielsen as one of the new villains, the movie has a perfect sense of humour and quality action and shoot-outs that are paced out well together with the cool soundtrack and that classic theme!! If your a big fan of the original you must have part 2 of course, Directed by the brilliant Tony Scott (RIP 1944–2012) who is no stranger to classic action movies like Top gun, The last boy scout, True romance, Man on fire.

Blu-ray picture is not bad, its great in places and occasionally the quality goes grainy in places,
