Lily Fury - Hinemosphere

Another fantastic shoegaze project in a year where we have already received so much. Hinemosphere is an incredibly strong display of noise rock gaze. The first and last track act more as interludes so I won't get into them all that much. The first full song

Hinemosphere, the title track, is not only the strongest here, but one of the best offerings of the year so far, with hard-hitting noisy instrumentation in the same vein as Parannoul and Asianglow with a heavy jrock tint over all of it the track holds nothing back. The second half is even more impressive shifting its focus on melody with a flurry of alt strings and fuzzy shoegaze instrumentation. Amazing song.

Stealth Raider is another solid track with great riffs and visceral vocals for the first 3 minutes creating an absolute banger of a track before it slowly shifts into an ethereal jrock run, the creativity, and potential of the band at full display here.

Although the least impressive track here sonically Lilium Aquarium is still a pretty rock track with nostalgia-inducing vocals, reminiscent of galileo galilei and RADWIMPS if they had a fuzz pedal lying around. The track falls into a soothing gorgeous atmosphere before breaking into a fantastic noise rock segment as if the band is hurling out all their pent-up frustration into the void.

Overall, Lily Fury has delivered one of the best shoegaze projects this year by a large mile, this is a band worth keeping an eye on for sure.
