A new species of Pitcairnia subgenus Pepinia (Pitcairnioideae) is described and illustrated here. Pitcairnia floresii sp.nov. has been found in the Department San Martín of Peru and is locally abundant. Key words: Flora of Peru, Pepinia, taxonomy
Pitcairnia singularis, known only from the municipality of Puerto Vallarta in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, is here described and illustrated. The new species is characterized by very narrow, epetiolate, deciduous normal leaves, a simple inflorescence with 14–20 pedicellate, secund, white flowers, and petals 1.5–1.7 cm long, without appendages. An identification key has been included for all the species of the genus present in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Resumen Se describe e ilustra Pitcairnia singularis, conocida únicamente del municipio de Puerto Vallarta, en el estado de Jalisco, México. El nuevo taxón se caracteriza por la presencia de hojas normales no pecioladas y caducas, inflorescencia simple con 14–20 flores pediceladas, secundas, blancas, con los pétalos de 1.5–1.7 cm de largo, sin apéndices. Se incluye una clave de identificación de las especies del género presentes en el estado de Jalisco.

Pitcairnia anarosae (Bromeliaceae; Pitcairnioideae) a new species from the state of Oaxaca, MéxicoPitcairnia anarosae, known until now from the municipality of San Juan Colorado, Oaxaca, Mexico, is described and illustrated. The new species is compared with P. singularis, from which differs by the plant height (19–40 vs 15–25 cm) the number of leaves (5–8 vs 3–4), and the morphology, color (red vs white) and length of flowers.

Bromeliaceae Juss. comprises 3,348 species and 58 genera (Luther 2012), grouped in subfamilies Brocchinioideae, Bromelioideae, Hechtioideae, Lindmanioideae, Navioideae, Pitcairnioideae, Puyoideae, and Tillandsioideae (Givnish et al. 2007). According to Luther (2012), the genus Pitcairnia Ruiz & Pav. has ca. 342 species and is the most diverse in Pitcairnioideae.

Bromus ayacuchensis, a new species from Departamento Ayacucho, Peru, is described and illustrated. The new species is similar to species in Bromus sect. Ceratochloa, particularly B. cebddilla, because of its strongly keeled lemmas. It differs from B. cebddilla by having densely pilose culms near the base, adaxially pilose ligules 3-6.6 mm long, lower glumes 1-veined, upper glumes 3-veined, pilose lemmas (especially along the margins and near the apex), lemma margins that are tightly involute on lower 1/5-1/4, and lemma awns 3-5.5 mm long. Phylogenetic analyses of sequence data from the internal transcribed spacer regions of nuclear ribosomal DNA place B. ayacuchensis in a clade with species of sect. Ceratochloa, whereas analyses of plastid data from the trnL intron and the 3'-end of ndhF indicate that B. ayacuchensis is closely related to this clade. Two new species in Tillandsioideae (Bromeliaceae) of Machu Picchu, Peru2012 •
Two new species belonging to the subfamily Tillandsioideae from Machu Picchu, Cusco, Peru are described and illustrated here. The new species Tillandsia machupicchuensis is close to T. tovarensis and the other new species Guzmania inkaterrae is close to G. morreniana and G. tenuifolia. Both species are abundant in the area.
Pitcairnia azouryi is a species of Bromeliaceae restricted to Atlantic Forest inselbergs of southeastern Brazil. Since the species was first described, populations of P. azouryi have been observed from three locations in the states of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. Here we report four new populations discovered after extensive fieldwork during a period of three years on 21 inselbergs in the states of Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With the discovery of these four new populations from the inselbergs Pedra Lisa, Pedra do Jacu, Pedra Três Irmãs e Pedra Parada Cristal (all located in the State of Espírito Santo), the number of locations where P. azouryi is known to occur has increased to seven. The analysis of these new samples allowed the evaluation of within species morphological variation, compared to the protologue description of plant height and leaf dimensions. We classify Pitcairnia azouryi as endangered (EN). This classification is based on the species' extension of occurrence (1,470 km 2), area of occupancy (ca. 53 km 2), number of known populations (7), and the fact that none of its occurrence sites are within a protected conservation areas. Resumo Pitcairnia azouryi é uma espécie de Bromeliaceae restrita aos inselbergs da Floresta Atlântica do Sudeste do Brasil. Desde que a espécie foi descrita pela primeira vez, populações de P. azouryi eram conhecidas em três localidades situadas nos esta-dos do Rio de Janeiro e Espírito Santo. Divulgamos aqui quatro novas populações de P. azouryi descobertas após exaustivo trabalho de campo durante o período de três anos em 21 inselbergs localizados entre os estados do Espírito Santo e Rio de Ja-neiro, Brasil. As novas populações descobertas nos inselbergs de Pedra Lisa, Pedra do Jacu, Pedra Três Irmãs e Pedra Parada Cristal (todos localizados no estado do Espírito Santo) ampliaram para sete os locais de ocorrência conhecida de P. azouryi. A análise de novas amostras revelaram diferenças morfológicas em comparação à descrição do protólogo no que se refere ao tamanho da planta e dimensões das folhas. Nós classificamos Pitcairnia azouryi como uma espécie ameaçada (EN). Esta classificação é baseada na extensão de ocorrência (1.470 Km 2), área de ocupação (ca. 53.0 Km 2), número de populações conhecidas (7), e no fato de nenhuma das áreas de ocorrência pertencer a uma unidade de conservação. Dyckia pampeana Büneker, a new species of Bromeliaceae (Pitcairnioideae) from the Pampa grasslands of Brazil and Uruguay, is hereby described and illustrated. Data on habitat, ecology, etymology, geographical distribution, morphological affinities and status of conservation according to the IUCN criteria are provided.
A discussion of Bromeliaceae diversity in Bolivia, and a checklist of the 21 genera and 281 species occuring there is presented. Each species entry in the checklist includes accepted name, comprehensive synonymy for all species described based on Bolivian types, additional pertinent synonymy, elevation range above sea level, distribution by department, and an indication of which species are endemic to Bolivia.

Hechtia glauca andHechtia iltisii are described as new and illustrated. Among the Bromeliaceae H. glauca is unusual in its glabrous, glaucous leaf surfaces. Inflorescence and floral dimorphisms are discussed forH. glauca andH. iltisii. A key to species ofHechtia from Novo-Galiciana and adjacent parts of Michoacan is included.
