Full sun, medium moisture level, rich soil, moderately acid pH.  3-5 feet height, blooms in spring, yellow flowers.

Germination Code:  A, H, I.   Can take up to 3 years to establish itself from seed.

Native Region:  Limited to 7 counties in Middle and East Tennessee — Cheatam, Davidson, Williamson, Maury, Cumberland, Blount and Polk

Showy lupine-like flowers on a long-lived plant.  Easy to grow. Native to forest openings in the Appalachians but is adaptable to rich garden soils throughout the eastern U.S.  Needs water during summer droughts.  Attracts butterflies.
