Description:

The Euphorbia milii var. Splendens is indigenous to Madagascar. It is a thorny, numerously branched, succulent shrub. As pictured, branches are covered with thorns. This species is semi-prostrate or somewhat climbing. As it matures, the plant quickly forms a lower dense hedge (can easily be trimmed back without harming the plant).

This species thrives in full sun to bright shade. It typically can tolerate heavier shade. If your friend has been growing in the shade for an extended period, slowly wean her off before placing her in full sun. Otherwise, you risk severely scorching the plant! Do not hurt your friend. Happily, this species is particularly tolerant of seaside conditions and salt spray. This makes it an excellent choice for planting along a coastline.
