Wow, just wow. Look at those amazing leaves! The Begonia Brevirimosa is a showstopper with its large, pink-striped leaves. Also called “Begonia Edinburgh,” this native of New Guinea has vibrant leaves that look like they’ve been painted, don’t they? But they’re all natural… And it’s obvious this Begonia is quite proud of the artistic vibe it brings with its upright growth and large leaves. What a glorious specimen!

Botanical Name: Begonia brevirimosa

Family: Begoniaceae

Care Level: Considered a medium-level houseplant.

Light: Indoors, your Begonia prefers indirect sunlight near a window.

Water: Let the soil dry out to about half an inch on the surface before watering. No more than twice a week should be good for this tropical beauty, but that depends upon the humidity level in your home. It’s important not to overwater!

Humidity: Your Begonia prefers a steady humidity, about 45 to 50%. Place a pebble tray under it or have a humidifier nearby if your home tends to have dry air.

Mature Size: Your Begonia can reach a maximum height of about 12 to 18 inches tall.

Temperature: Your Begonia is most comfortable in temperatures between 65 and 70°F.

Fertilizer: Feed once every two to three months in the spring to increase blooms with a basic, slow-release fertilizer in a 10-10-10 formula.

Toxicity: Begonias are toxic to humans and pets if ingested.
