Former Juventus, Lazio, and West Ham United striker Paolo Di Canio feels that Inter Milan were “sublime” against the Biancocelesti.

The former Italian international spoke on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, giving his thoughts on the Nerazzurri’s performance in the Supercoppa Italiana semifinal.

Inter beat Lazio by a scoreline of 3-0 in the semifinal of the Supercoppa Italiana on Friday.

They booked their place in the final of the competition, against Napoli this evening. The Nerazzurri secured this by an emphatic scoreline.

But if anything, the margin of victory didn’t fully reflect their superiority.

Subsequently, Inter took a total of 23 shots. And the Biancocelesti managed just five, none of which were on target.

The Nerazzurri had almost two thirds of the possession, and it was not just possession for possession’s sake.

Inter moved the ball very quickly, and got it forward with ease in order to create chances.

Di Canio: Inter “Sublime” Against Lazio In Supercoppa Italiana

Di Canio gave the view that “The other evening Inter were sublime against Lazio.”

“But to win, they have to stay close to that level.”

The former striker gave the view that “For me they’ve been the strongest team in Italy for the last three years.”

“Inzaghi is doing a fantastic job,” the ex-Italian international and West Ham star continued.

“He’s improved many players individually, and the team collectively,” Di Canio said of the Inter coach.

“But he also has to choose which moments in which he rotates the squad, which will also be a matter of the characteristics of the players that he has.”

“Inzaghi has built a project where the team can play brilliant football,” Di Canio said.

“But now he also has to be able to get the best out of the characteristics of some of the other players who he has” Di Canio concluded.
