Enemy Zero

EnemyZero_title

Enemy Zero is one of those infamous Saturn games that most people have heard about but perhaps never played, it was released by Warp who were pretty big Sega supporters after a deal with Sony went wrong – a rare time where Sega came out on top in the Saturn era! So basically, Enemy Zero is Saturn exclusive where the gameplay is an FMV story driven romp which allows for free movement in some sections but it’s still very on rails like many other examples in the genre are of this time period. It’s a pretty atmospheric and tense much like playing out an Alien franchise game, the enemies are invisible so you often have to use your senses to detect if something is near along with the radar like system in your possession. I found the Japanese version to be somewhat accessible, some of the text is English for the terminals but otherwise mostly Japanese, if you’ve played this before, you could probably easily make your way through it, being a newcomer though, things won’t be such a breeze. The game still holds up well today and the temptation to import a Japanese copy can certainly be great, I’d say if you’ve got a modded Saturn, buy this for your library and download a native language disc(s) to play and enjoy, it comes on 4 discs so keep that in mind when purchasing it.
