Hechtia lanata
The genus Hechtia is in the Bromeliad Family, with most of the species coming from Mexico. Hechtia lanata is a relatively recently-described species from eastern Oaxaca, with leaves wider than most of its relatives, and curling downward at the tips. The name “lanata” means wooly, and refers to the fuzzy scales on the leaf surface - dense on some specimens, but not on others. The subtle pastel hues of the plant pictured are wonderful.
