Hechtia tillandsioides

Most species of Hechtia have white or off-white flowers, with leaves that have sharp teeth along the edges. Hechtia tillandsioides is an exception on both counts, since it has lavender flowers and leaves which lack the toothy margins. Like other species of Hechtia, it has separate male and female plants, and the pollen visible on the flowers pictured show this one to be a male plant. From eastern Mexico.
