Located in Tirol, Ischgl resort, part of Silvretta Arena, is the Ibiza of the Austrian Alps, and its famous après parties have drawn the likes of Beyoncé, Elton John, and Rihanna. But its 45 lifts, 107 miles of high-altitude piste, and extended ski season from November to May make it a favorite for all. Silvretta is also home to the duty-free Swiss resort of Samnaun, best accessed via the challenging 22-mile-long Smuggler’s Run Gold slope, named for its former use as a snowy black-market byway for coffee, alcohol, and spices and requiring four hours to complete. The Silver and Bronze runs are slightly easier.
