jonesii

Tillandsia jonesii is a newly described, caulescent species (2008) from Brazil. It grows and clumps rapidly and is similar in appearance to T. aeranthos. One of the attractive aspects of this species is that the leaves tend to have a maroon tint to them (which is due to the presence of high amount of the pigment, anthocyanin). Easy to care for, like all tillys, soak it overnight if the leaf edges start to curl up toward each other more than the normal channeling that they have.
