Bromeliads are epiphytic plants frequently found in moist rainforest, but they include species (such as pineapples) that grow in open tropical sunlight. Closely related are the air plants (Tillandsia) that includes the well known Spanish Moss that hangs from trees but also a wide variety of other forms, many with distinctive flowers.
