Viola hirta L.

Taxonomy: Fam. Violaceae// Genus: Viola// Species: Viola hirta L.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Valentine, Merxmüller and Schmidt in Tutin et al. (1968), Diklić in Josifović (1972) and Hodálová et al. (2008).

Lifeform: Perennial; chemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from Europe to Siberia and Xinjiang according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Mountain meadows with Pteridium aquilinium in the “Ratkova skala” region at c. 1350 m altitude.

Flowering period: Spring: APR.
