Ceratostylis retisquama is a floriferous orchid species from the Philippines. Also known by the common name Ceratostylis rubra, this beautiful deep salmon to coral coloured orchid species can be found in lowland to montane forest areas in shady locations. Ceratostylis rubra is an epiphyte that is easily grown as long as you keep the substrate evenly moist with absolutely no direct sunlight. This orchid species is a warm grower but as with many other orchids would not appreciate temperatures much above 30-32 ºC. This has been my experience with this orchid species.
