Amy Moeder joined the athletic department in 2015, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge from more than two decades of work in business and finance. In 2016, she was elevated to Associate AD for Business Operations and in August 2017, she was promoted to Senior Associate AD and Chief Financial Officer.
As Chief Financial Officer, Moeder manages the entire athletic department budget, while also coordinating and reviewing individual unit budgets throughout the department. In addition she prepares all year-end financial statements, and is responsible for the preparation, review and approval of various financial transactions including human resources, payroll and facility projects.
Moeder has worked at her alma mater since 2001. For nearly five years she was a senior auditor with Internal Audit, planning and performing operational, compliance and financial audits of various MSU departments and facilities. In 2006 she took over as business manager for the MSU Office of Study Abroad, where she not only developed a departmental budget, but managed the budget for over 150 study abroad programs.
Prior to working at Michigan State, Moeder was an Audit Supervisor, Auditor and Accountant at Layton and Richardson PC in East Lansing from 1998 to 2001. Her professional career also includes stints as a Staff Accountant at the University of Missouri (1998) and Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing (1994-1998).
She received her bachelor's degree in accounting from Michigan State.
