In 2023, Material Matters will showcase a curated mix of exhibitors to celebrate the importance of materials and their ability to shape our lives. The selection included global brands, makers, designers, manufacturers, and artists working in materials that ranged from recycled aluminium, clay, wood and glass to orange peel, roots and sugar.
Mixed Metals

Mixed Metals is a collaboration between Juliette Bigley and Simone ten Hompel, for whom metal is an integral part of working life. They make to uncover how we relate to material, and their interests lie in the expressive capacities of metal. Through research and exhibitions, they invite audiences to meet the voices of metal that are encapsulated in their work. They will be bringing a metals and materials-led interactive installation to Material Matters 2023.
