Maddie Pintoff is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree at the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Paul Neubauer.

At Juilliard, she performs often as a member of the Juilliard Orchestra and the Juilliard Lab Orchestra. An avid chamber musician, she has performed in numerous recitals as well as appearing in Juilliard’s Pianoscope, featuring historical arrangements of Beethoven’s Piano Concertos, and New Dances, where her string quintet collaborated in a cross-disciplinary program with dancers and choreographers. Her festival appearances include Music Academy of the West, the Sarasota Music Festival, Music@Menlo, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and Heifetz International Music Institute.

Originally from Manhattan’s Upper West Side, Maddie began her official viola studies with Sophie Arbuckle, joining the Pre-College program at the Juilliard School. During her high school years, she held the position of principal violist of both the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra and Pre-College Symphony, regularly performing in Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. She made her solo orchestra debut with the New York Chamber Players Orchestra, performing in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Room. She also was a first prize winner in numerous competitions, including the 2nd Annual Young Soloists of New England Competition, the Camerata Artists International Solo Competition, and Vivo International Music Competition. She was a Finalist in the Sinfonietta Nova Concerto Competition.

Maddie plays on a viola labeled C.F. Landolfi, most likely made in South Tyrol circa 1750. Outside of her musical endeavors, she is an accomplished nature and wildlife photographer, using a Canon 90D with a 400mm lens.
