This wine tasting and dinner was included in our Globus Sicily tour. Started off with a private tour of where the wine is made. Learned a bit about how the soil is so fertile from Mt Etnea. Started off with some sparkling whites which were extremely bubbly. I personally preferred the reds. Many dishes were brought out, one tastier than the other! Family style dishes.

We came to this restaurant for a meal plus wine tasting. Service was great but the meal was very much underwhelming. The amount of food served was generous and the wines were decent, particularly their sparkling wines.

We were supposed to spend three nights at Tenuta San Michele but loved it so much we added another. Read about this place in the travel section of the NY Times. First of all the setting is spectacular. Views of Mt Etna, the sea and at night the lights of the mainland. This is a family run agriturismo. Eight brothers and mama close by. We were there with two of our adult kids and by the end felt like family. In general, the people of Sicily are warm and friendly but speak little or no English. This place was no exception. Only Pietro speaks English . We had fun practicing our Italian with him. There is a restaurant on site and once you go you will never want to dine elsewhere. For 24e each we had wine and cheese by the wine bar, an antipasti spread in the dining room, a pasta and meat course, desert and all the wine we wanted from their winery. Incredible! Our three rooms were in a building with a reading and game room downstairs and bedrooms kitchen and office upstairs. Right by a gorgeous pool with views of the vineyards and Mt Etna. LOVED this place and the people who run it. Grazie mille!!!!

We got a recommendation at the hotel we were staying at for this winery. We had been drinking Murgo wine the entire time in Sicily and visiting the place were they grew and made the wine made sense. We had a feast! First the antipasti was delivered with caponata, panzanella eggplant parm and much more. The pasta dishes were orecchiette with a spinach cream sauce and local Sicilian noodle with mushrooms and tomato sauce. The meats were fabulous with locally made sausage, steak and meatballs. I would highly recommend this place if you a looking for a good meal where the locals come, also remember to bring your appetite!
