Only if you don't want TV or sleep.
Front desk staff young man who works Friday and Sat was really the only responsive person.
The party and car noise right up next to the building was horrible. TV was never fixed. Nor that of other guests we spoke to. The best thing was the beach. Bathroom need hooks to hang things, wet towel etc. The little window above the door lets in glaring light all night. Had to stuff newspaper into the gap to hang down over it.
Room was clean. I'mHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brian R.Newport Beach, CA01Mar 29, 2024
Unless you enjoy sleeping next to the Indy 500, I would pass on this establishment. It is located between both lanes of Newport Blvd with nonstop traffic well into the evening. We finally had to leave at 4 am to find a quieter option for sleep.
The bedspread had this obnoxious Fabreez type of smell that was completely off-putting and made sleeping even more difficult.
Finally, the toilet kept running all night. We had to close the bathroom door to partially contain that nonstop distraction.
Pass on this place unless you have no other options.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Esteban C.Avalon, CA01Apr 26, 2024
I stayed at this location on 4/25/24 checked in at 8:45 PM.. The lady that checked me in was extremely rude, she acted like she hated her job and treated me like I was bothering her.. she double charged me for my room even though I told her I paid through the booking app.. & she she proceeded to tell me it was my fault because I confused her by talking to her while she was processing my booking...
Not a good experience whatsoever. I do not recommend this hotel.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 1, 2024
This place has a lot of pros and a lot of cons. It's overly priced for what you are getting, located between two busy roads, right next to the fire station, and has no elevator. However it has a lot of charm. The rooms are nicely coastal themed. Our room was clean-ish. There was no visible dirt and grime but we did have ants crawling up through the bathtub drain which just kinda gave me an ick feeling. The rooms are very small and the bathrooms even smaller. Theres only one sink located inside the bathroom. We got room number 3. Right outside of it was a nice sitting area with lots of flowers and fake grass. It's ~technically~ in a great location. Walking distance from the beach, shops, grocery store, and tons of restaurants. You had to request to have housekeeping come in but they did a great job and cleaned our room nicely. Parking can be tricky as the lot is very small and made for smaller cars. It's not a bad place to stay, but it's also not the best place to stay. Pretty basic overall. My biggest complaint would be the bath towels. They're small, like most hotel bath towels are, but they are extremely extremely rough. A little fabric softener would go a long way towards guest comfort.

I don't even know where to start so I broke it down into pros and cons.
Pros:
-The rooms were decently clean (minus the spider that was patiently waiting to greet us on the wall)
-The location is perfect (you get perfect views and sounds from the bar and traffic)
-There are free bike rentals through the hotel (but you have to get down and unwind the locks and get them out yourself)
-The maid service was good (when they were here)
Cons:
-There was NOBODY at the front desk after the first night we checked in.... NOBODY
-We ran out of toilet paper and couldn't ask for more.... why? because NOBODY WAS IN THE OFFICE
-Only one maid service during our 3 night and 4 day stay..... which means we had only 2 rolls of toilet paper for 4 days. (We had 3 girls on this trip=lots of toilet paper)
-Lazy front desk receptionist that made US unlock and wiggle the bikes out and put them back with HER KEY (I didn't know it was my responsibility to use her key and remove my bike and make sure I replace the lock)..... That seemed like something the front desk is responsible for.
-Front desk lady was sick and blowing her nose and touching everything when we checked in which gave me a TERRIBLE impression on how they treat their guests.
At this point, I have to go somewhere to BUY MY OWN TOILET PAPER BECAUSE ALL THE WORKERS DISAPPEARED......Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Caitlyn M.Las Vegas, NV14276106Jul 26, 2023
Stayed here with my husband for his birthday weekend, it was the most affordable in the area within walking distance to the pier. Our room was clean and decent sized and the service was fast and friendly. Will definitely be staying again in the future!!

The best thing about this hotel is its location. Beyond that it is adequate. And overpriced for adequate. Our first room the toilet ran constantly. They had no interest in fixing it and the high pitched noise it was making drove us crazy. The second room was better- but neither location connected to the supposedly free wifi. When I asked about ot the woman at the office said "yea, there is probably too many people using it". Which wasn't very helpful because I had work to do. I am typing this from the cute little coffeeshop across the street.

Awesome staff. Helpful and easy to ask questions regarding the area. Room was cute, clean and met all my needs for the weekend. Super super close to everything around. It's literally the best place to stay in the area. Felt safe. Good lighting around. Parking is at the actual hotel.
I will continue to stay here as much as I can while in the area. Great pickHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Molly S.Fairfield, CA1478Dec 5, 2022
Great little gem that's close to everything! We've stayed here a handful of times when it's just my husband and I.(We rent a house on our family trips). You can't beat the location. Every time we've stayed the rooms are always clean, the front desk clerks are always courteous and accommodating and we feel like home here. Providing the beach gear, towels and bikes are a plus. We literally hop in the car for a few hours and arrive for some fun in the sun.

Better off elsewhere. This place use to be great, but they don't have bikes anymore, they charge for parking now, they don't do late check out.. even on weekdays, front desk is never available. Use to be our fave hotel but we won't be back.
