We had gotten a recommendation for this hotel from a friend who had stayed there with his wife within the last 3 - 4 months. We stayed here for over half of our trip, so we had time to get a good feel for the place.
The hotel is located on a main street running roughly between the main train terminal and the central historic sites (Forum, etc.). Though the street was busy, the room was fairly quiet. You would hear police or ambulance sirens occasionally, but you are in the middle of the city and the windows did a good job of dampening the noise. For reference, it took us about 15 minutes to walk to the train station and just over 20 minutes to walk to the Colosseum.
We arrived via a shuttle van from the airport. We had originally planned to take a train in, but the ticket seller at the airport recommended the shuttle as it was almost exactly the same price and saved us the walk. It was nice in that we did not have to find our way to the hotel the first time while jet-lagged.
The staff was very professional and helpful upon arrival. They provided a map and a lot of information, probably more than I could absorb given my post-flight condition. Though it was just after 11 a.m., they did have a room ready for us (we had expected to have to check our bags for a few hours first). It was great to be able to at least minimally unpack and relax briefly before having to seek out lunch.
The room was described as a junior suite, which was a complimentary upgrade from whatever I'd booked (a 3-person room). It had one main bed with a partition wall, and translucent pocket door type panels on either side so that you could sort of make it 2 separate rooms. The other room contained the couch that folded out to a bed, a refrigerator, and a couple of small tables and chairs. There were also 3 small closets / cabinets. If I were laying out the space myself, I'd have traded one of the cabinets for a bit more floor space in which to lay out suitcases. The room was not huge, but it had enough space to access open suitcases. I understand that floor space is at a premium downtown, and I'm sure other hotels here are sized similarly. Also, to make use of the lights, you have to put one of your room keys in a slot near the door. I had seen this feature in other hotels occasionally. We thought it was odd that, as we left and extracted the key, that they lights they stayed on.
They did have a fitness room and (I think) some sort of small 'business center'. The room for breakfast (included in our room rate) was on the primary floor towards the rear of the building. Breakfast was served starting at 7 a.m. each day and was *the* stand out feature of the hotel for us (though we liked a lot of other things too). The buffet was amazing. They had fresh juices (orange, pear, etc.), multiple varieties of coffee served by table, sausage and bacon, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, a few types of bread, and many more dessert-type pastries than I usually associate with breakfast. I'm sure I'm leaving some things out too. I will probably be vaguely sad at subsequent hotel breakfasts in the U.S. going forward...
The layout of the hotel had a quirk that we discovered late in our stay. There were apparently two separate towers, buildings (4 - 5 floors each). The hotel has a restaurant, but it is on top of the other tower (not the one in which we stayed) so we had to find the 2nd elevator (near the breakfast room) to access that.
At the reception desk as you enter, you can either access rooms via the elevator to your left or via the stairs to the right. In the stairwell there was an older (original?) cage-type elevator. We decided to try it out one day. However, after entering, we could not get it to re-open. We had to descend back to the ground level and eventually press the alarm button to request help. It turned out you had to keep pushing the floor button repeatedly to make fine adjustments to position the cage at the proper height, at which point the door's auto-lock would disengage. If it is that hard to operate, maybe they should either shut it down or provide instructions inside the cage. This was sort of a running joke with us for the rest of our stay.
The only issue we really had was with the 3rd bed. I have stayed in a number of hotels with couches that convert to beds and have never had an issue with operating one of these. Until this trip. We had to get assistance with it initially.
In contrast to post-pandemic hotels in the U.S., here they actually clean up your room nightly and provide fresh towels.
We were very satisfied with our stay here and would consider staying here again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Trish P.Lake Villa, IL07Mar 2, 2024
Had a wonderful stay. The hotel is located in a great location and we were able to walk to everything we visited. Ivan at the front desk was fantastic. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel Artemide truly deserves a 5/5 star rating for our delightful 4-night stay in Rome. My wife and I found the location to be incredibly convenient, just 10-15 minutes away from all the must-see attractions. This made it an ideal pit stop for a quick siesta during our busy days of sightseeing.
The housekeeping staff were excellent, making sure our room was in top condition by coming twice a day. The mini bar was always well-stocked and, even better, free of charge. The rooftop bar, while not offering the most spectacular views, provided a pleasant atmosphere for relaxing with a drink. We also had the opportunity to use the spa, which was clean and well-maintained. The only minor drawback was some fellow guests who engaged in loud conversations, disrupting the peaceful vibes.
Our couples' relaxation massage was enjoyable, though I personally would have preferred more pressure. Next time, I plan to opt for a deep tissue massage to better suit my preferences. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Artemide for anyone planning a trip to Rome - you won't be disappointed!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 12, 2022
One of the best hotels I've stayed in...and honestly, I wish I would've made my reservation here for the entire stay in Rome.
The staff were superb - friendly, gave great recommendations, helped arrange transport, made dinner reservations!
Rooms were clean, spacious (for three). The beds were a dream and it was one of the best night of sleep I had travelling. Also had a balcony (ours faced the street). We didn't hear any noise from other hotel occupants.
They offer a complimentary drink before 7pm at the rooftop bar. Slippers/bathrobes are available. Breakfast was complimentary for us and the spread was a lot more than I expected.
Wait, did we talk about the spa located on the lower level? We opted in for a spa package. Despite there being a change in times without notice, we still had a great relaxing time. I loved the steam room. Would definitely book here in a heartbeat again!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 30, 2022
Amazing hotel in the center of Rome! I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone (couple, family, solo traveler). The staff was beyond friendly and the rooms were spacious, clean and so comfortable.
The rooftop bar had amazing food and drinks (get the beef Tartar and tiramisu). We booked a couples massage In their Artemis Spa and it was a great way to unwind after being out in the heat. The hotel breakfast had everything you'd want; coffee, pastries, eggs and protein. I can't recommend this hotel enough, it was perfect!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Still H.Whitman, MA020Aug 4, 2023
The hotel is in a decent area w/ lots of shops and restaurants. The hotel is absolutely clean & beautiful.
Gabriella and her staff were incredibly helpful. They happily filled every request, quickly. They also helped by suggesting local attractions & dining. Our room was clean & the amenities were outstanding.
Breakfast was very impressive. It is NOT your usual hotel food. There are so many items, you can't leave hungry.
If we get back to Rome...we are staying at Artemide !Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - H W.Houston, TX0412Jan 7, 2024
Stayed here for about 8 days late 2022 and it's still my favorite hotel in Roma. Rooms are European sized - so bear that in mind coming from North America, however they are clean and well appointed. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is absolutely excellent! Only caveat is that they have few rooms that can accommodate more than 2 persons, meaning adults with teenage children will probably have to book a second room.

I can't even describe how utterly fantastic this hotel was for us!
We stayed three nights and had the most glorious breakfast (included), spent 90 minutes at the spa (Turkish bath, sauna, whirlpool) for a mere 15 Euro each, and were hosted by some of the best hospitality staff out there!
The room was spacious and quiet, had a stocked mini bar, and all the toiletries you could need!
The front desk staff helped us with navigating the city, from directing us to buses & trains, to hailing us taxis, and even setting up dinner reservations. They exceeded our expectations daily!
As an added bonus, the sent up some complimentary champagne for our anniversary. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It's walking distance to pretty much everything or a short train or bus away and yet is a quiet oasis when you turn in for the night.
My husband and I had a fantastic time and when we come back to Rome, it would be great to visit again. 5stars indeed!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
