Food is great. But my car broke down in front of the restaurant, and the employees came out to help me and offered advice on how to fix it and let me keep it parked there overnight for a tow truck to come by in the morning. Kindness I will never forget dahlias is #1 in my stomach and heart.

I got to come here for the first time with my friend! Twas a great visit!
We ordered pad thai and fried rice and they were sooo good! The quantity was great and so delicious!
My friend came to this place multiple times while she was studying near this restaurant!
Definitely a great option! We ordered with veggies and tofu style and that was awesome!
Highly recommended to all vegetarian and people for those who wanna eat healthy!
Awesome service and nice cozy environment! :)

If you've seen my old review you would know that I loved this place and frequently supported it. But I have to leave this review because I'm really upset with the service we received.
We ordered a take out order for NO spice and they messed up our order and made it very spicy to the point where we can't eat it. When we called to get it fixed, they just argued with us over and over and said we had to pay to get another plate, even though they're the ones that put our order wrong.
I'm really disappointed in this service and now I can't eat my food. Waste of money.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 11, 2023Previous reviewI am not kidding, there was a time where ordered food from here literally every week. Me and my classmates made a tradition of it. I absolutely love their Pad See Ewe (soy sauce noodles) and order it every time. I have tried it at other restaurants and this one still holds the prize. I have sampled some of their other dishes and they were good, but again, the soy sauce noodles are the staple for me.
Service is always kind, though a little slow. I usually order take out from here but it's a quiet and nice place to sit down at too. - Reagan L.San Antonio, TX23May 9, 2024
So I was having a late lunch which I was treating my family (extended) to. 10 people. At the end of the lunch which was quite good I proceeded to go and pay for it. The lady at the register stated it was $381 for the meal but failed to mention they had already tacked on a tip of $54. Plus taxes came out to only $381.08. I assumed tat a tip was not included and paid $450. So I basically tipped about 45%. Needless to say I will not return to Dahlia Thai Cuisine. If you do go make sure to see the itemized bill first!!!!!

This is the worst Thai food I've had in San Antonio. A couple of pros to start though, the servers are friendly and the restaurant is clean. The cons: The dishes were loaded with sugar, as if someone had poured syrup on them. Out of 7 people eating, 6 could not finish their various dishes. I thought it was just my food but all of the other guests spoke about it after leaving. Additionally the water had a very funky taste. To add insult to injury, they charged gratuity but did not share this with anyone and then suggested a tip. It felt quite underhanded after a few of the people accidentally double tipped.

Fun little Thai place right in the heart of Medical Center!! I've heard a lot of people say good things about here, the flavor profile is strong and makes you want to keep eating. Our server was an attentive quiet man, and the food came out very quickly. Food was hot and fresh and packed to the top of the plate, roughly $13-$15 per plate! Lots of places to sit and lot bigger inside than what it's perceived.

I came here on NYE with the Things and a guest before going out to see fireworks, so as the last meal of 2022, we wanted to go somewhere we could all enjoy! Let's go through a run down on some of the things we got! Ready?
Thai Egg Rolls
These egg rolls were simple ground pork rolls with pieces of carrot through out.
Chicken Satay
Thai Chicken Satay is a popular starter on Thai restaurant menus along with Thai Fish Cakes. There are many variations of chicken satay recipes, which in essence, means chicken marinated in spices, skewered, and grilled. The chicken on this dish was grilled nicely, making for a nice pairing with the side of salty fish sauce (yes, I used fish sauce on chicken, so report me to the food police).
Tom Yum Soup
I love Tom Yum soup! It is my absolute favorite soup in the world. The Thai word for "boil" or tom (pronounced "dtome") features prominently on Thai menus and tom yum goong is probably one of the most famous Thai dishes in the world. Now let's talk about the "yum". This word literally means mixing things together to achieve the mélange of sweet, sour and spicy notes that typify a yum. The marriage of the words "tom yum", therefore, results in a yum broth brought to a boil. But THIS Tom Yum was none of those things.. This soup was bland and lacked lemon grass (which is a key ingredient in this dish). This soup was served with chicken as the protein as opposed to shrimp or prawn.
Pho Soup
Yes, Pho was served at a Thai restaurant. Normally, I wouldn't order a Vietnamese dish from someplace that notes they specialize in Thai food, but by technicality, I didn't order this, Thing Two did. This soup, like the Tom Yum was bland and left much to be desired.
The Prince of Thais Special
The fish in this dish first came out raw. The dish was supposed to be seared salmon but wasn't seared at all. When the dish was brought back to the table after being returned, the fish after getting past the heavy sauce that covered it was a small serving equivalent to a child's portion. While the fish was cooked properly the second time around, it was executed nicely but not worth the price point for what was served.
Pineapple Fried Rice
Although Pineapple Fried Rice is of Thai origin, there are iterations of it all around the world. While some recipes use little more than a dash of soy sauce, the recipe here was not served in the traditional manner. It lacked the 'peak of freshness' pineapple (the pineapple was dull) and the vegetables were bland.
Overall, this meal was one that was memorable for the wrong reasons. This is not an establishment I would visit again as it lacked traditional Thai taste or any real taste at all. Three stars is generous....Helpful 33Thanks 1Love this 22Oh no 1 - Dec 20, 2022
I ordered the 39. Lad Nah Mee Krob (Crispy egg noodles), which is around $11. You can choose your protein! I thought the egg noodles had a nice crunch and the toppings were plentiful. There are lots of veggies, like bok chow, broccoli, snow peas, and red peppers!
The server was kind and attentive. There were not that many customers on a Saturday afternoon. Overall, I liked my dish (because I don't often make crispy egg noodles myself), but I don't think it is the most amazing Thai food that I have ever tried. Good value though!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Iyare O.Northwest Side, San Antonio, TX32436May 29, 2023
Tried Dahlias for the first time for lunch, heard good things so I came to check it out for myself. Our server was quick, polite, and attentive to our needs. Food came out quickly (under 10 min) and was nice and hot upon arrival.
We first had the curry puffs which I'd say were quite the treat. Flavors and texture were on point, would definitely recommend.
Curry Puffs: 8.5/10
Chicken Paht Thai (spice level 4) was good as well. I like spicy food so 4 was just right for me especially considering it's a generally sweet dish. Chicken was solid nothing good or bad to say about it.
Chicken Paht Thai: 8/10
Sesame Chicken was okay. Sauce was pretty good but wish it was tossed in it rather than poured on top.
Sesame Chicken: 7/10
Overall the food was good and would recommend to anyone looking for Thai food.
