We had a absolutely fabulous 2 day stay at The Ambassador hotel...
The view of the Matterhorn was unfortunately hidden by a ominous cloud at the top for the 2 days...
We enjoyed the amenities of a large suite.
The property is perfectly located in the edge of town very close to the train.
We were there off season , so many activities were closed . Getting to the Matterhorn was very very easy... we walked 15 miles around the mountain and village in 2 days... it was breathtaking and very memorable to say the least... most of the Village was closed on Sunday...

Lovely hotel located only 350 feet from the train station and with the most magnificent view of the famous Matterhorn Glacier in Zermatt, Switzerland. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, especially the Front Desk receptionist! Free breakfast was a very nice way to start your day. The beds were very comfortable. We had a awesome balcony with spectacular views of many Swiss Alps. Would highly recommend this hotel while staying in Zermatt!!

Very clean, spacious, new/modern furnished room with a fantastic morning view of Matterhorn. Location is great as it is positioned right outside the tram station and as most of the hotels are, very close to town shops.. conveniently has a living room area if you prefer to eat in for the evening. Towel warmer, 2 refrigerators, and an extra room included with our reservation... great experience

I hope I can bring my husband here someday. As a special mother/daughter trip, we stayed two nights in Zermatt so my Mom could cross the Matterhorn off her bucket list. It is beautifully located in the small village at the base of the mountain in the Swiss Alps. Not every room has a view of the famous peak, so if that is important, you may need to ask in advance. But most rooms have a balcony or outdoor area, which is great for sitting outside and enjoying the sheep bleating on the mountainside or watching the many waterfalls. The hotel itself is very modern and has surprisingly good wifi service and cable TV for kicking back in your room. It is also located perfectly within the village town. There is a bakery next door that has decent coffee and pastries, a COOP across the street or up a few blocks if you want to get some fresh fruit or goodies for your room. It is also within walking distance to at least two apothekes, one McDonald's, and several restaurants and shopping locations. The staff is very friendly and responsive. It is well worth the trek to stay at the Ambassador.
