Albert Heijn

Fijne supermarkt, zo midden in de stationshal. Een goed broodafdeling, met vers belegde broodjes, een koeling met salades en voorverpakte sandwiches en verder een heleboel andere zaken die je in een normale supermarkt tegenkomt. Dat normale assortiment is wat kleiner dan normaal, deze supermarkt is vooral gericht op gemaksvoedsel. Bij de kassa's staat een bak met bestek: een combineerde lepel, vork en mes in één. Beetje vreemd, maar het werkt wel. Je kunt dus gerust die bak salade nemen. Ook lekker, ze hebben hier de Magnum Almond, mijn zomerse verslaving...

De zelfsscan-kassa's werken prima. Je scant zelf je spullen, je pint en klaar. Er staan er zes, dus je staat bijna nooit in de rij. De enige rij die er staat is voor mensen die blijkbaar contact willen afrekenen. Dus heb je haast, hou dan je pinpas in de aanslag, en je staat zo weer buiten!

A very large Albert Heijn (To Go) in the Amstel Station. They have everything you would need for lunch. This is a "To Go" location so they have fewer household items and more geared towards commuters or people passing through. We actually walk here to get lunch from the offices nearby.

It is very open and spread out. Nicely lighted and high ceilings. Lot's of self-checkout....(only). But I THINK they take actual credit cards, I know some other To Go stores do.

These little mini marts are in all the train stations. They carry everything from ready to eat sandwiches and fruit, to beer and candy. The prices are affordable and they cater to people needing a snack for the train.
I wouldn't purchase an entire meal here (although you could), but it is definitely convenient for when you're on your way back to the hotel and realize that you have nothing to munch on or drink once you get there.
