A Snails Place

Carol and "A Snail's Place" are both fantastic. The store is always filled with unique items and their selection of new & vintage jewelry and accessories is extensive and well priced. Carol is always close by to offer suggestions and advice. Most recently, I stopped in for a last-minute bouquet for my daughter's wedding. Carol helped me choose the best flowers and she designed the perfect bouquet. The flowers held up the entire week after she was married. I highly recommend a visit to "A Snail's Place". You won't be disappointed.

Shop outside-the-box at A Snail's Place in Elma. Yes. Elma. It's like a little slice of Elmwood Village in the Southtowns. Although the fb page calls it a florist - and it is - the real fun is in checking out the unique, interesting items in the shop: from vintage Jackie O hats and jewelry to tech gifts, you never know what you'll find at A Snail's Place.

The atmosphere is a tad funky and creative and the goods reflect that. After several visits, I've learned if you see something you would like, purchase it! Or don't expect to return to find the item for the inventory - while stocked with certain things like cards and gourmet jarred goods - changes. The prices are very reasonable: some competitive, some bargains.

It's the perfect place to land for picking up a gift for someone who doesn't really "need" anything. Designer "mismatched" woolly socks are beautiful, lots of vintage and hand made jewelry, rubber stamps, unique scarves, stuffed animals including buffaloes, candles, handmade soap, one-of-a-kind small, square pottery (clay) dishes to catch change or hold soap, home decor, buffalo t-shirts, cool platters, glassware, mugs and plenty of gift selections for the foodie on your list.

The staff is consistently courteous, helpful and friendly - everything you'd hope for in a small, local shop. By today's standards, it's almost quaint to have someone help you like they do. You can bring your items for purchase to the counter and they'll start a hand-written (with a carbon copy) receipt AND carefully wrap your items in tissue paper, or if you tell them it's a gift, they'll take the price tag off and gift wrap it, at no charge, for you. Holy cow. Just holy cow.

I've received postcard invitations to A Snail's Place semi-annual Open House. You can browse while enjoying a glass of wine and checking out the food samples, all in good cheer from the kindly associates.

When you're out and about, stop in and support this wonderful slice of goodness all year, and especially on Small Business Saturday (the Saturday after Thanksgiving).
