Kangana Ranaut gushes about Tabu on her Insta, hails her for ‘single-handedly saving the Hindi film industry’

Tabu is on a roll these days. The ‘Maqbool’ star featured in two back-to-back hits in 2022 - ‘Bhool-Bhulaiyaa 2’ and ‘Drishyam 2’ and was lauded for delivering memorable performances in both movies. Kangana Ranaut is the latest addition to the Tabu fan club. The ‘Queen’ star took to Instagram and paid a moving tribute to the ‘Andhadhun’ actress. She also hailed her for “single-handedly saving the Hindi film industry.”
The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ star heaped praises on Tabu on her Instagram handle. She wrote that the ‘Chini Kum’ actress had been part of the only two movies that “worked this year” -’ Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and ‘Drishyam 2’. She also added that it was inspiring that an actress past 50 is experiencing a career-high post 50 and enjoying a surge in popularity.

She also wrote that the ‘Haider’ star ‘looked her best’ right now. “Only two Hindi films have worked this year – Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2… and both films have superstar Tabu Ji in central roles, slaying in her 50s… single-handedly saving the Hindi film industry. Her talent and consistency have never been questioned but to look her best and reach the peak of her stardom in her fifties is commendable.”

She also wrote that actresses are often overlooked for their contribution, so it’s inspiring when talented female stars like Tabu gain recognition for their work. “I think women deserve much more credit for their unwavering dedication to their work... Such an inspiration” wrote the ‘Simran’ actress.

Both of the movies, Tabu starred in went on to become blockbusters at the box office, briefly breaking the dry-spell Bollywood experienced this year. ‘Drishyam 2’ co-starring Ajay Devgn released on November 18 and went on to mint Rs 21.59 crore on the second day of release. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ which also stars Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani earned Rs 266 crore worldwide.
