Miltassia orchids are intergeneric hybrids of Brassia and Miltonia. This variety produces elongated brown and yellow speckled blooms with a purple and cream lip. Long spindly blooms have earned this genus the title of "spider orchid". A rewarding orchid perfect for beginners.

Plant may vary from pictured. Orchid plugs have 1-2 growth points. Plugs range from near blooming size (1-2 years from blooming) to blooming size. Grower selection.

MILTASSIA CARE INFO:

Potting mix: Fine bark or fine and long fiber sphagnum mix. Repot in Spring every 1-2 years.

Light: Bright indirect - medium light. Does not care about window direction. Protect leaves from direct sun exposure.

Water: Water frequently in hot months when media reaches dry (about once or twice a week). Slightly more drought tolerant than Miltonia.

Temp: Intermediate-warm (50F min night, 90F max day).

Humidity: 40-80%, tolerant of low humidity but prefers intermediate.

Fertilizing: Heavy feeding Spring-Summer. 1/2 strength urea-free fertilizer, every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Flush the pot once monthly to prevent salt build up. Decrease to once monthly in Winter.
