Abstract
Mediocalcar is a genus of miniature orchids with creeping rhizomes and small pseudobulbs carrying clusters of succulent elliptic leaves and terminal inflorescences carrying solitary, colourful bell-shaped flowers that open simultaneously. Plants tend to form dense mats and are very striking when in bloom. Flowers are bright red or orange.
