- Broadleaf evergreen, 6 ft (1.8 m), upright. Leaves dark green, to 15 x 5 cm, pointed. Flower rosy pink fading to a blush at centers of lobes (i.e., whitish area on inner petals), broadly funnel-shaped, 9-10 cm wide, conical truss with 14-18 flowers, faint yellow blotch deep in throat.
- - 5°F, mid; quality rating: 4/3-4/4-5[flower / plant & foliage / performance; scale 1 (poor) - 5 (best)]. Sun tolerant, fine in part shade. Easy to grow, tough. A R. griffithianum hybrid. A favorite since its introduced in 1910.
- Oregon State Univ. campus: large plants along the walk on the north side of Kidder Hall (essentially unpruned and not well formed). 'Alice' and 'Cynthia' both bloom on the Oregon State campus at similar times, but they are easy to distinguish.
