Even the rain-hardened Seattleites are starting to think this might be a bit much...

The historic atmospheric river soaking the Pacific Northwest this week brought its first raindrops to Seattle at 11:42 a.m. Thursday.

Two days later, the rain hasn't stopped!

Well, mostly.

Sea-Tac Airport reported a break in the rain Friday evening from 8:42 p.m. to 9:25 p.m. before the rain returned. and still kept right on going past 11:42 a.m. Saturday meaning Seattle has had nearly 48 consecutive hours of rainfall. Or maybe the rain was falling and the rain gauge just needed a break.

Either way, the seemingly never-ending rain has washed out several entries in Seattle's weather record books -- most notably Friday becoming the 5th wettest day on record at 3.25 inches. Both the 1.32" that fell on Thursday and 3.25" that fell on Friday were daily rainfall records. And with a storm total well over 5 inches, Seattle was working on making it into the Top 5 wettest 3-day stretches in the city's history.

The rain was mercifully expected to stop later Saturday afternoon or early evening.
