Quick Overview:

?Victor? is a compact crape myrtle cultivar that grows to 3-6′ tall. It is an upright-rounded, deciduous shrub that features terminal crepe-papery inflorescences (6-9? long) of dark red flowers from mid to late summer, dark green foliage which turns yellow-red in fall, and reddish-brown bark which exfoliates with age. Flowers give way to round seed capsules which often persist well into winter.

Description

Best grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Does well in loamy, clay soils with good drainage. Benefits from a slow release fertilizer. Overly fertile soils tend to produce lush foliage growth at the expense of flowering with somewhat increased susceptibility to winter injury. Water roots deeply, particularly in dry spells, but avoid wetting the foliage.
