Circumcision or removal of foreskin of penis apart from religious reasons which is done in childhood is preferred by lots of men in later part of their life. It is a personal decision which men take for various reasons.

1. Men who feel they have tight foreskin which is uncomfortable or even painful during sex or daily cleaning.
2. Men who feel that they have too much foreskin and want it to be removed for cosmetic reasons.
3. Men who prefer the appearance of a circumcised penis.
4. Men who want to reduce the sensitivity of the glans (head) of the penis because of premature ejaculation.
5. Men who are bothered by a poorly done circumcision in their childhood or due to some other reason. Common problems include uneven or wide scars, suture track marks and uneven, excessive or tethered skin.
6. In some cases, usually following a circumcision, too much skin has been removed leading to uncomfortable or painful erections and intercourse.

Most men live with these issuesin adulthood, are too shy to discuss and have been uncomfortable discussing them. All of the above mentioned problems have a solution and men get satisfaction and great relief after these issues are dealt with.

The procedure is performed using local anesthesia and it will take under an hour to complete. The patient is asked to keep the area dry for 3 -6 days. The sutures will dissolve on their own within about 2 weeks.Most men require off from work for 2-3 days. Sexual activity must be avoided for 3 to 4 weeks afterwards, and high energy sports for 6 weeks.
