“What’s the coverage rate?” It’s one of the most common questions we are asked by our customers pertaining to mulch and straw. Here's a quick reference guide to help address this frequently asked question.

Mulch Coverage:

One 3CF bag will cover: 12 square feet @ 3” deep 18 square feet @ 2” deep 36 square feet @ 1” deep

One cubic yard will cover: 108 square feet @ 3” deep 162 square feet @ 2” deep 324 square feet @ 1” deep

Note: Nine 3CF bags or fourteen 2CF bags are equivalent to 1 cubic yard. A pallet of 3CF bags usually contains 45 bags so it is equivalent to 5 yards of bulk

Pine Straw:

The average bale is nearly 4CF.

1st application: 1 bale = approx. 40 sqft

Over-strawing: 1 bale = approx. 70 sqft

Wheat Straw

By hand: 1 bale = approx. 500 sqft

By blower: 1 bale = approx. 1,000 sqft

BLOOM SOIL

What is BLOOM? Bloom is a soil conditioner made from Class A Exceptional Quality biosolids. Bloom provides essential plant nutrients, including nitrogen and phosphorous. It is dark and earthy in color because it’s loaded with carbon, which is great for your soil. By using Bloom you can look forward to more vigorous growth, better looking plants, and better drought resistance. Bloom is ideal for improving and establishing lawns, remediating poor soils, planting trees and shrubs, and establishing flower and vegetable gardens.

Plant Establishment

For trees, flowers, fruit, vegetables or herbs, add 1-2" of Bloom to a depth of 6-12" of existing soil during planting.

Turf Establishment Add 1-3" of Bloom to a depth of 6-12" of existing soil before seeding or sodding.

Potting Soil Blends

Uniformly blend 10-20% Bloom into a standard growing media. Place in pot and plant, then water.
