Top Quality, Should be a 5 Star!
I visited the H10 Rubicon Palace on 14 September 2014 for a week's stay. The hotel was huge, it was like a village in itself and really lived up to it's name of 'Palace'

Loads of choice of bars and restaurants. The all inclusive food was served in the main buffet restaurant which was lovely, theme changed every night and there was something for everyone. There was lots of seafood, so if you are into seafood then this will be fantastic, but also if you don't like seafood there was absolutely loads of choice of other food. I am not a seafood fan at all and I found something to eat every day at every meal time without any problems. The service in the restaurant was really good.

There were three restaurants on site - The Italian, Mediterranean and Asian. We ate in the Italian restaurant one night, which was included in the all inclusive, and it was really nice. There was also the snack bar by the pool, which served fresh burgers, hot dogs, salads, chips, pasta or you could even make your own toasties which again were a great standard.

There were also three bars on site too - the piano bar, the entertainment hall and the sports bar. The piano bar was fantastic for chilling out and listening to the fantastic piano players and singers- they had different people every night and they were all fantastic. The entertainment hall was very family orientated but when it got to about 10pm it would get a little more adult focussed but still suitable for children. The animation team worked so, so hard to entertain everyone throughout the day or at night but they don't pester you. The Sports bar was the bar that was open the latest and it had more of a pubby atmosphere and was lovely. The bar staff were so well mannered and spoke really good English. We ended up here every night as there was loads to do such as pool, air hockey etc, or you could just go there to chill out. The air-con in there was really powerful, so it was nice on a warm night and you got complimentary nuts to go with your drinks if you fancied them, which was a nice little touch. All staff in all of the bars were always smiling (taking into consideration they have probably been working for a straight 12 hours) which was impressive and very welcoming.

There was a mini market on every night, just outside the food hall in the hotel too, which coincided with whatever theme was on that night. And the alcohol served was mostly branded stuff too, which I have never experienced in any hotel yet so that was good!

When we got to the hotel we got upgraded to a sea view room (6052) and we could see Fuerteventura too. The rooms were very spacious and the balcony was massive. Rooms cleaned every day as well. We also got a complimentary spa day, which was a great quality spa and a bottle of cava (we didn't take advantage of the cava as we aren't big cava fans) so if you email the hotel before you go with any requests you have, they will email you back and they will do everything they can to honour your request. We didn't ask for the cava or the spa day we only asked for the sea view and we got all of those other things thrown in. So yes definitely email about two weeks before you go if you have any requests.

The hotel was out of the way of Playa Blanca but it was either a lovely 40-45 minute walk along the promenade to Playa Blanca, which had plenty of bars and restaurants on the way, and when you reach the resort centre there were loads there too. If you carry on that little bit further, you will reach the Marina Rubicon, which was beautiful and we ate in a place called 'LANI'S', which did fantastic cocktails and fantastic meals, so that's a one to recommend.

Or you could get a taxi instantly from the hotel - go to the reception, ask for a taxi and they press a button and the taxi was there within seconds, which was great, because you're not waiting around. Taxi was normally around 3-5 euro, which wasn't bad at all.

Excursions leave from right outside of the Rubicon Palace also so you're not having to go to another place to be picked up. I recommend the Volcanic Escape as you get to experience the natural history of Lanzarote and see all of the volcanoes, natural sites and even get a little wine tasting included!

All in all I would recommend this hotel to everyone, care and attention is taken in every area of the hotel and there is something for every client.
