Xbox Game Pass to soon get Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Resident Evil 2 and more, GTA 5 going away

Xbox Game Pass is getting several new titles like Resident Evil 2 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla with Microsoft planning to remove GTA 5 and MotoGP 22. Here are all the games which will be available on the video game subscription service in the coming days.

Xbox Game Pass, formerly known as Xbox Live Gold getting some new titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Resident Evil 2. However, there is no word on when the subscription-based gaming platform will get Activision Blizzard games like Call of Duty and Diablo IV. Here are all the games Microsoft is bringing to the Xbox Game Pass in January 2024.

Close to the Sun – January 3

Launched in 2019, Close to the Sun is a first-person horror adventure game that puts the player in the shoes of Rose Archer, a journalist on a quest to save her sister. The game takes place in an alternate reality in 1897, where the two known innovators – Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison are fighting each other. If you are a fan of the Bioshock series, make sure to give this game a try.

Hell Let Loose – January 4

Hell Let Loose is a realistic platoon-based first-person online multiplayer title where you fight against other players on a huge map. Set in the World War II era, players are encouraged to communicate with others via voice. As you would expect from a military sim like Arma 2, the game features proximity, party and unit-only voice channels as well.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – January 9

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is an action RPG title where you play as a Viking named Eivor. Set in the years between 872 and 878 AD, the game takes place in the British Isles during the Viking expansion.

However, the gameplay is significantly different from iconic Assassin’s Creed titles, which mainly focus on stealth, with Valhalla featuring several all-out wars. It is also the most popular game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Developed by Bedtime Digital Games, an indie gaming studio, Figment is an action-adventure game that was launched in 2017. You play as Dusty and go on an adventure with your friend Pipper in a world filled with humour, multi-layered narrative and music to discover the various facets of the mind and restore the courage that was lost.

Super Mega Baseball 4 (EA Play) – January 11

Available via EA Play, Super Mega Baseball is a baseball simulator that was launched in June last year. The simulation game features more than 200 baseball legends and combines immersive gameplay with arcade-style gameplay. If you want to give baseball simulators a try, this is one of the best titles to get started with.

We Happy Few – January 11

We Happy Few is a first-person game that combines various video game formulas like role-playing, roguelike elements and survival. The action-adventure is set in a retro-futuristic version of the 1960s where the player has to escape the fictional city of Wellington Wells, which is on the verge of societal collapse with residents consuming a hallucinogenic drug that keeps them away from the truth.

Set in the iconic Raccoon City, Resident Evil 2 is an action horror game where you play as Leon S. Kennedy alongside Claire Redfield, a college student to survive a flesh-eating zombie-infested city. The gameplay involves exploring the world, solving puzzles and a bit of combat.

Those Who Remain – January 16

Launched in 2018, Those Who Remain is a survival shooter where you have to survive waves of infected enemies using various perks and weapons while looting for items. If you like games like Left 4 Dead, make sure to give this game a try.

Games leaving Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft makes way for new games by removing some existing titles from Xbox Game Pass. The games that will soon be unavailable includes Garden Story, MotoGP 22, Person 4 Golden, Persona 3 Portable and Grand Theft Auto 5, which will be removed on January 5.
