No, Cartoon Network Is Not Dead But CN’s Reaction To RIP Tweets Is Killer

Cartoon Network recently turned Twitter nostalgic after reports of the channel being bought out by Warner Bros. While users believed this will be an end to the channel of the shows that previously aired, CN has clarified that they are not going anywhere. On Friday, many netizens took to social media to remember their childhood shows from The Flintstones, The Jetsons, The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, to Scooby-Doo.

Cartoon Network founded on October 1, 1992, has curated many fan-favourite shows over the decades including Popeye the Sailor, Bugs Bunny and the Looney Toons, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Johnny Bravo.

Reminiscing one Twitter user said, “It’s an end of an era. End of our old childhood days. Don’t know why but this makes me little emotional. Thank you Cartoon Network for bringing smiles and joy back in the days." Meanwhile, another added, “It was always Cartoon Network over Disney and Nickelodeon for me."

The RIP tweets has led the channel's official Twitter account to clear the air. Their tweet said they aren't going anywhere. It added, 'We have been and will always be your home for beloved, innovative cartoons."

The RIP tweets began after the news of Cartoon Network merging with Warner Bros. One tweet claimed that the channel will be shut down after it was bought by the studio. However, the Studio is yet to reveal what are their plans with the channel.
