Billbergia lietzei Morren

Leaves 6-10 in a short, tight tubular rosette, 30-50 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, whitish beneath but not banded, light green; margins with short spines. Scape slender, red, with thin red bracts. Inflorescence simple, erect, loose; sepals red; petals green-yellow with a blue tip.

Related cultivar: 'BobtailL' Small tight tube. Leaves green with pink flushes and cream spots, flared at top. Inflorescence semi-erect, bracts red, petals green.
