Trillium, Red. Trillium erectum. Zones 3-6, Root. Also known as Birthroot or Wake robin, Red Trillium blooms in the early to mid-spring. Flowers are a deep red in color, with some variation, and may persist for a month, but plants need to be several years old before flowering begins. Native to the eastern US. Grow in shade to partial sun. Herbaceous perennial.
