Cistus x purpureus

Orchid Rockrose: A tough evergreen shrub to 4-6' tall x 6' wide with narrow wavy-edged leaves up to 2" long that have a nice resinous scent. 3" wide dark magenta-purple flowers with a red spot appear in spring to summer. Pollinator friendly, deer and gopher resistant. Full sun, low water. Tolerates drought, heat, seacoast, wind and sandy soil.
