I spotted a favorite & lovely early spring flower -Synthyris reniformis or Snow Queen-blooming along the side of the trail (Dan’s Trail) just below Dimple Hill on Sunday afternoon. Perhaps it’s already been blooming there for awhile as I know it’s usually quite early, but this was my first hike up there in awhile.

The plant we have on the north side of our house has just begun blooming too. This photo is from Feb. 12. BTW, botanists have been busy and moved Snow Queen into the speedwell genus. Now Snow Queen is Veronica regina-nivalis.
