Pest advice for houseplants please 🐌! I found a bush snail on my orchid and the plant’s been declining enough for me to unpot to investigate the problem. Sure enough, there was a snail infestation in the media and 99% of the new root growth has been eaten, leaving old, poorly-functioning roots that aren’t able to hydrate the plant enough, hence the decline. I got rid of the old potting media and treated the roots and crevices with hydrogen peroxide 3% (it’s the orchid go-to) and she’s now in a fresh pot with fresh media. Just wondering if anyone has found anything that has eradicated snails in their houseplants? #PestControl Here’s my girl looking a little less leafy than she did before #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #OrchidLovers

How do I get this orchid to rebloom again? #Oncidium
-
I’m excited! The first of my tiny buds is beginning to open! I’ve never seen her bloom before so it’s going to be a lovely treat and I’m told she is vanilla scented😬! I am so in love with this plant (she’s an oncidium Twinkle) - she’s just so weird and wonderful. #OrchidLovers #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #Oncidium
-
And we’re open! This must be why they are called Twinkles…the blooms are star shaped, literally little stars! She’s stunning! The blooms are a little smaller than the size of a thumb nail, so tiny and delicate and I can’t wait to see her when all four flower spikes open their blooms! Will definitely be adding more Twinkles to my collection next year #Oncidium #OrchidLovers #PlantsMakePeopleHappy
