Tenerife: Playa de las Americas Waterfront

This is a gorgeous run along the ocean on Tenerife in the popular Playa de las Americas area. A nearly seamless waterfront promenade runs from the Los Cristanos ferry terminal north for 8.4 km to Playa de la Enramada, just north of the Mirador Palomas (observation deck). There’s a festive atmosphere and fantastic water views along this route. In some sections, there are ‘double promenades’ — one close to the beach and one a bit further back. The southern section of the route in Los Cristianos is more crowded and touristy, while it’s more natural and less crowded further north. One can continue north of Playa de la Enramada for another 1.5 km to La Caleta, on a path alongside the beach and then the Cam. de Costa.

Some distances and highlights, starting from Los Cristianos:

O-3 km
: Several beaches of Playa de las Americas, Calle Francisco Fumero, is lined with cafés and shops
3 km:     Puerto Colon – north of here there’s a choice of three different promenades
3.5 km:  Playa de la Troya area
4.4 km:  Playa del Bobo, nice section of promenade above the water
5 km:     Puerto Colón, section along road
6 km:     Playa Torviscas. Just past here, Choice of levels to run on, nice beaches past Playa de Fañabé
7.5 km:  Mirador Javier Pérez Ramos
8.3 km:  Mirador Palomas. North of here, run on boardwalk along Playa Enramada
8.7 km:  Cam. de Costa
9.5 km:  La Caleta
