Kercem Local Council has recently signed a contract, where together with Ghaqda Ghajn Tuta and Paulos Restaurant as beneficiaries, will benefit from a project financed through European funds called – Frott il-Qamha u l-Ilma Gieri.

The funds, totalling €147,323.05, will be used to carry out infrastructural projects in the area of Ghar Ilma, as well as the recovery and restoration of old machinery related to crafts in the village of Kercem.

In addition to this, the Council said that a cultural activity will take place in July, with the aim of promoting the localities of Kercem and Santa Lucija, as well as highlighting the ancient crafts of our forefathers and attracting more tourism to these villages.

These funds are being issued through the GAGF LEADER Programme – Gozitan Attractions and Innovative Events for all Seasons – Develop Gozo’s all-season tourism product offering (Third call).

The Local Council expressed its thanks to all those who in any way helped in order to prepare and complete the application which resulted in acquiring funds for the two villages.
