Lonicera c. ‘Amphora’

A variety with very tasty, sweet and sour fruit, ripening at the beginning of June, hardy, long-lived. The first yields appear 2-3 years after planting.

Lonicera . ‘Amur’

The plant grows to 150 cm height, flowers appear in March-April. Elongated berries ripen in June.

Lonicera c. ‘Atut’

The plant has an erect habit, flat spherical, height up to 1.5 meters. It blooms in mid-May, requires a pollinator for better yielding – ‘Wojtek’ and ‘Duet’ are the best. Fruits are large, average weight of 1.3 g, dark navy blue with a pleasant aroma.

Lonicera c. ‘Aurora’

Large-fruited Canadian honeysuckle with improved taste. It combines the best qualities of the original Russian and Japanese honeysuckles because it’s a hybrid of Russian variety Sol and Japanese variety MT 46.65. Grows to 1,5-2 m height.

Fruits ripen in the second half of May and, unlike older varieties, are easily visible on the plant and sweeter than older varieties.

‘Aurora’ is fully frost-resistant, even blooming flowers can withstand frost -7°С.

Lonicera c. ‘Bakcarsky Velikan’®

The advantages of this variety are large fertility, high-quality fruits, and high fertility.

The annual growth of the young plants is up to 60 cm, the skeletal branches grow upright. The height of the adult bush is 1.9 m and is oval in shape. Fruits ripen in the second half of May. They are very large to 4-5 cm long and up to 1,5 cm wide, average 1,8 g even to 2,5 g. The fruits are sweet and acid. The taste rating of ‘Bakcarsky Velikan’® is 4.9 points on a five-point scale.

It begins fruiting in the second year after planting. It reaches full fertility in the eighth to ten years after planting, when the harvest reaches an average of 2.5 kg of fruits per plant, maximum up to 4.5 kg. This variety is fully frost-resistant, even blooming flowers can withstand frost -7°С.

Lonicera c. ‘Bakczarskaja Jubilejnaja’®

Honeysuckle ‘Bakcarskaja Jubileynaja’ is an early, highly fertile, licensed dessert variety developed in Russia. The berries are large (1.5 g to 2 g), cylindrical, dark purple with a bluish waxy coating, aromatic, very tasty – fresh, juicy, sweet and sour. Ripen in May/end of June. An average yield of an adult shrub is about 3-3.5 kg of berries.

The berries of this variety are very suitable for transportation, can be used fresh or used for processing (jams, juices, syrups). It can be freeze-dried or dried. It can also be used as a red food coloring.
The maximum height of the plant is about 1.5 m.

Lonicera c. ‘Borealis’®

The shrub is medium fast-growing and reaches a height of 1.5 m
Fruits are large, average weight about 1.6 g, the taste is sweetly sour. They ripen in the second half of May and are hidden under the leaves.
‘Borealis’ is fully frost-resistant, even blooming flowers can withstand frost -7°С.

‘Borealis’ was launched in 2007 by hybrid Kyiv # 8 x Tomička and intended mainly for planting in home gardens. For good pollination and regular crop, the breeder recommends planting ‘Borealis’ along with ‘Aurora’. The following planting scheme is recommended: one Borealis plant to 8 Aurora plants and vice versa.

Lonicera c. ‘Czelabinka’

This variety has fruits about 16 mm long and about 8 mm in diameter, with an average height of approx. 1,5m.

Lonicera c. ‘Czulimskaja’®

Lonicera c. ‘Docz’ Velikana’®

The average sizes of the plant are height 180 cm, width 130 cm, oval-shaped. Annual shoots erect, drooping at the ends. Flowering period in the first half of April, the fruits ripen in the second half of June.

Average fruit’s weight is 1.8 g (max 2.5 g), oblong-shaped, dark violet color, but due to the thick wax layer they appear blue. Sweet taste. Suitability for transport quite good. Ripe berries are soft. Dessert fruit, also recommended for freezing. Manual, but mechanical collection recommended. The berries stick to the bush quite well, but can be shaken. Average bush yield: 3.1 kg (max 5.2 kg), average yield per hectare: 10.2 t / ha (max 17.2 t / ha).

For abundant fruition, several different varieties should be planted side by side (to enable cross pollination), the recommended varieties are ‘Streżewczanka’, ‘Vostorg’, ‘Bakczarskij Velikan’.

Lonicera c. ‘Duet’

An early variety, ripening from the end of May to the half of June. It has large, cylindrical and numerous fruits with an average weight of 1.3g. It blooms in mid-April. The best pollinators are ‘Wojtek’ and ‘Atut’. Shrub habit erect, up to 1.5 meters high.

Lonicera c. ‘Gordost Bakczara’®

Medium-compact shrub, the skeletal branches are rigid, young bend under the weight of the fruit.

The fruits are spindle-shaped, elongated, purple-blue, with a strong waxy coating, the average weight is 1.3 g, and the dimensions are 4.5 cm long and 1.0 cm in diameter. Fruits are sweet-sour, in the tasting evaluation they obtained 4.8 points (on a scale of 0-5). Dessert fruit, also recommended for freezing. They tolerate transport well. Mechanical and manual harvesting, berries fall off. Recommended collection in two dates. Average bush yield: 3.2 kg, average yield per hectare: 10.5 t/ha. Cross-pollination is needed for an abundant crop, the best pollinators are ‘Docz’ Velikana’, ‘Streżewczanka’, ‘Vostorg’, ‘Bakczarskij Velikan’.

The variety was entered into the State Register of the Russian Federation in 2007.

Lonicera c. ‘Honeybee’

The bushes grow quite quickly and grow up to 150 cm high and 120 cm wide. Dessert fruit with a cylindrical shape. They are slightly acidic, juicy and tasty with an average weight of 1.9 g. The petioles are firmly attached to the fruit. Ripe fruits stay on the bush for a long time – until they dry.
The fruits ripen in the second half of June. Mechanical and manual harvesting is possible, the berries do not flake off.
The average yield of a shrub is 4 kg (max 5 kg), the average yield per hectare is 13.2 t/ha (max 16.5 t / ha).
Better crops are obtained as a result of cross-pollination, the best pollinators are ‘Indigo Gem’, ‘Tundra’, ‘Aurora’, ‘Borealis’.

Canadian variety, bred at the University of Saskatchewan. A hybrid of Russian varieties ‘Suvenir’ and ‘Blue Pacific’. The variety was bred as a pollinator for ‘Borealis’, ‘Tundra’ and for the ‘Indigo’ series, but it turned out to be a fully valuable production variety, proven on plantations.
