Calpe

Calpe

The limestone mountains of Costa Blanca don’t just stretch along the coast – next to the town of Calpe in the province of Alicante, a rock tower rises straight out of the sea spumes, creating a dramatic landscape. The huge cliff of the Peñón de Ifach is a trademark of Calpe – it can even be seen from the charming little town of Altea. The top of the hill has a stunning view, beneath us stretches Calpe’s legendary and beautiful sandy reef. The beaches with crystal clear water are the main attraction of the city for tourists. And for those planning a day trip to this beautiful place, from Benidorm is easily reached by tram along a scenic coastal road. And for water lovers just a short boat ride, which is departing directly from Benidorm and arrives at the port of Calpe, where we are greeted by a lovely little fair, with local trinkets and traditional Spanish restaurants where visitors are already welcomed with sangria. After lunch we have the opportunity to stretch out on one of the beach beds and then as the sun goes down we set off on the catamaran that arrives for us, with small gifts in our pockets reminiscent of the city, with a wonderful feeling in our hearts that we have yet to come back here.
